3 & 4 months

One would think I would be more on top of this, but I’ve been a bit of a slacker. I have, on the other hand, been keeping up with Ginny’s baby book. Not a complete failure.

(For comparison sake, check out the pictures from the first two months of her life!)

There was no “3 month” appointment with the doctor, so I don’t have her weight or height or anything.

On her three month birthday I did a “day in the life” type thing, which is why I remember what she was doing at that point (and that it was a rainy day). That’s why the picture is so dark. Shortly after this picture it started POURING rain.

At three months Ginny was still using the potty like a champ, taking long naps in her swing, and smiling like a champ!

At four months we did have an appointment. We got smart after the last appointment and took the picture BEFORE the shots:

Ginny @ 4 months; 12 lbs 5 oz, 25 inches

I can’t believe my baby has grown Approx. 5 inches! I’m sure there is some error in the process, babies are scrunchy when they come out, and older babies resist having their limbs pulled. But still, five inches!!!

At four months Ginny has hit TONS of milestones. She was rolling over from front to back, back to front, and in both directions. She was sleeping in her own bed (that didn’t last long), and she now refuses to sleep on her back. It always makes my heart jump a little when I tip-toe into her room with her limp body in my arms, I unwrap her blankets, and gently set her in her crib… just for her to unceremoniously flip onto her stomach while I hold my breath hoping she stays asleep.

At almost 5 months old she is still in 0-3 month clothes, but the doctor says she is trending just below the 50th percentile perfectly. I guess consistency is more important than where the numbers fall.

She also laughs now. It is a fleeting sound that doesn’t happen very often, but when it does she sounds just like her Mama.

It makes me so happy.

Tonight I have a headache. The kind of headache that makes everything seem like a mountains’ worth of work. Dinner? Who knows, I don’t really feel like doing much of anything, but thankfully B-man is home, so maybe he has some ideas?

Continue the fun!

  1. I love her hair. It's so cute the way it flops over her forehead in the second picture.

I think there is some error in meassurement too. But isn't it amazing how much they grow?

Reid has grown so much. In the 95% for height and weight. He's wearing some 6-9 month and 6-12 clohting which blows my mind! He's even eatin solid food now after 8oz bottles every three hours wasn't doing it for him. In conclusion, he needs a job because he is eating and growing his way through our monetary resources, ha!

    1. They do grow so quickly! I'm refusing to accept it though. lol.

I'm kind of surprised at what a tiny baby she is though, considering both B-man and I are over weight people – but I guess that just proves that there are skinny people inside of us! Ginny can wear 3-6 month onsies, but the problem comes in the bottoms. 0-3 monthes is too short, 3-6 months is long enough, but too big in the waist.

We've started giving Ginny solid foods, at the doctor's recommendation, but it's mostly just practicing eating, and not for the calories.
